Land tours for yacht guests in Split

Guests arriving by yacht at the ACI Marina Split (Spinut) or ACI Marina Trogir have a specific planning challenge that most land-based travel agencies do not address: the day's itinerary depends on weather, anchorage availability, and a skipper's decision often made the night before. Tours need to be bookable on short notice and adaptable to a schedule that may change.

The marina pickup logistics

ACI Marina Split is located at Uvala Spinut, about 2.5 km northwest of the Split city centre along the Meštrović Museum coast road. The marina has vehicle access at the gate, pre-booked private cars with the correct marina registration can enter for pickup and drop-off.

ACI Marina Trogir is 28 km from Split, connected by the coast road through Kaštela. The marina is directly accessible by road and positioned immediately adjacent to Trogir old town bridge. A car waiting at the marina gate can be visible from most berths.

Both marinas have taxi stands nearby, but taxi availability in peak summer is inconsistent. Pre-booked transfers are guaranteed to be there regardless of demand at a given moment.

Common yacht guest requests

Day trip to Plitvice with vehicle pickup from marina: this is a common request and the timing works. Pickup from ACI Marina Split at 07:00 allows arrival at Plitvice before the entrance queue builds. Return by 19:30. The flexibility is in departure time, yacht schedules allow this kind of early start more easily than hotel guests.

Split to Dubrovnik transfer for a guest leaving the yacht in Split and continuing overland: the most common use case is a guest changing plans, joining a yacht in Split for a week and then needing road or air transfer to continue the trip independently.

Land excursion for part of the yacht group while the skipper handles maintenance: it is common for two or three guests to take a land day trip while the skipper does boat work and other guests rest. A private vehicle handles any size group independently from the boat.

Cross-rental connection: guests finishing a charter in Split and needing transfer to Trogir (where some charter operators are based) or to Split Airport for an outbound flight.

Restaurant Fontana on the Trogir Riva (waterfront) reliably good, book ahead in summer. For ACI Marina Split: the marina has an on-site restaurant that is adequate. Better options are in the Split city centre (1km walk or 5-min taxi): Restaurant Konoba Fetivi near Diocletian's Palace for grilled fish and local wine.
